Designer: A PEACE TREATY

Farah Malik, a Pakastani Muslim, and Dana Arbib, a Libyan Jew, founded fashion company, A PEACE TREATY, to help create employment for skilled artisans working in places of socio-political strife. Their products are handmade by textile techniques at risk of extinction, with each collection of hand-loomed scarves crafted by a different village from around the world. The local artisans of the region help Malik and Arbib evolve and re-define their pieces by adding cultural perspective and ethnic colours. A PEACE TREATY employs artisans with above fair trade wages and invests in creating income generation opportunities for out-of-work artisans, disable and widowed women.
